Inclusive Policy Development
Co-author of MSU’s first university-wide inclusive policy on use, display, and collection of name, gender, and pronouns – a policy that brings needed gender-inclusive standards to over 400+ systems that collect or display demographic data, impacting over 50,000 students, 12,000 faculty/staff, and thousands of alumni and external vendors.
DEI Conference Planning and Coordination
From serving as the lead organizer of UNK’s first LGBTQ community and research symposium, to being part of the team behind MSU’s major Gender, Women’s Suffrage, and Political Power conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, I work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring communities, experts, and policymakers together as they advance DEI knowledge, education, and advocacy.
Community Needs Assessment
Beginning with a community needs assessment of MSU’s LGBTQIA2S+ employee resource group, translated into a proposal for updated and improved gender-affirming healthcare coverage: Community-based participatory advocacy can highlight voices, needs, and experiences of groups too often made invisible in a complex institution.
